Welcome to City of Refuge – a special art sale of unique, selected photographs from the regional exhibition of photojournalism, "Local Testimony". Proceeds will be donated to ASSAF’s efforts to protect and to promote the rights and well-being of asylum seekers in Israel.

Local Testimony exhibition of local photojournalism runs concurrently to the annual “World Press Photo” exhibition. Since its inception in 2003, Local Testimony has drawn thousands of visitors every year, as well as hundreds of thousands of views on the exhibition website. The exhibition is one of the most important events in Israeli photojournalism, and is hosted in Israel’s third largest museum – the Eretz Israel Museum in Tel Aviv.
ASSAF is a non-profit human rights organization, established in 2007 to provide aid to asylum seekers living in Israel, and to promote their rights. The organization’s work combines extensive public advocacy actions with psychosocial aid to the most vulnerable groups of asylum seekers, including survivors of torture, vulnerable women, people with disabilities and youth at risk.
